Have you already had these stamps on your itineraries? These handmade stamps are sure to be another memory of your travel. Available at Hachinohe Tourist Information Center in the JR Hachinohe Station.
Images on the stamps represent as follows:

  • IMAGE DESCRIPTION
  • #1 ”Hachinohe Senbei-jiru Soup” is a homemade dish made by boiling Senbei (wheat flour crackers) with your favorite ingredients.
  • #2 ”Yawata Uma Horse Figurines” are local toys that have the most ancient tradition in the Nanbu region.  The gorgeous design painted on their surfaces is believed to represent the formal costume for horses at bridal ceremonies in Nanbu villages.
  • #3 ”Gassho Dogu” is the clay figure made during the late Jomon Period, approximately 3,500 years ago. With its knees raised and palms pressed together, it appears to be praying.
  • #4 ”Hachinohe Maeoki Saba” is the fatty mackerel caught offshore Hachinohe.
  • #5 ”Eboshi hats in the shape of horse heads” are worn by the dancers at Hachinohe Enburi Festival held in the mid-February to usher spring and pray for good harvests.

  • #1 ”Nanbu Senbei” are the famous wheat crackers of the Hachinohe area.
  • #2 ”Kabushima,” a national natural monument of Japan, is a breeding ground of black-tailed gulls. “Kabushima Shrine” has been attracting many visitors, who claim it’s a place with mystical powers.
  • #3 ”Horyo Kagura”, a unique kind of shrine music and dance, was initially created by a Buddhist monk and has been passed down through the ages at Ogami Shrine.
